Tourism

Take your vacation in the Csángó Land!

For people interested in discovering the Csángó Land and Moldova, the Association of Csango-Hungarians in Moldova provides accomodation between 2007/06/16 and 2007/08/18 (during the summer holidays). Due to the lack of organized tourism and available lodging, it has always been difficult for travellers to visit our region. For this reason, the Association started to offer comfortable accomodation in three Csángó villages.

Discover the beauty of Moldova!

What has Moldova to offer for you? A beautiful nature, cosy villages, unique folk architecture, hospitable people, living folk traditions, to mention only a few things the Csángó Land has in store for you. As a visitor, you can take a look inside the life of the Catholic Hungarian communities of Moldova. In all the three villages you have the possibility for a calm, relaxing vacation. If you want to spend your free time more actively, you can hike to other Csángó villages or visit other famous spots like the painted churches of Moldavia.

The houses have warm/ cold water and bath rooms, as well as cooking and washing facilities!

To use the accomodation provided by the Association, it is necessary to make a charitable contribution to the "Foundation for Hungarian Education in Moldova", at least 2000 Forint/ person/ night.

For further information and reservation feel free to contact us: csangoszallas@csango.ro

The sites:

Frumósza/Frumoasa

The village belongs to a chain of Csángó-Hungarian villages along the river Tázló having a rich legacy of folk architecture. The dominant sight is a seemingly endless line of porch houses and unique gates, on the buzzing weekly market you can find the most various things you'd ever need. You can also make a trip to the nearby river or to the famous village of Pusztina.
Maximum sleeping places: 8

Csík/Ciucani

Surrounded by enchanting nature, located amongst huge forests, this cosy village offers a great opportunity for recreation and relaxation. An interesting sight are the cellars hewn in the rock. The nearby traditional villages Külsőrekecsin, Somoska and Klézse are accessible on foot, in the neighbouring village of Berendfalva you can visit an old church-tower ruin.
Maximum sleeping places: 12

Lábnyik/Vladnic

Lábnyik is one of the two villages ''struggling'' for the title of the most eastern Hungarian-speaking community. The remembrance of Székely origin is still very strong among the inhabitants, the place-names also bear witness to that. Because of its seclusion, the village offers perfect relaxation. The village Magyarfalu is located within walking distance.
Maximum sleeping places: 5 + groups under the roof
